Passions
Motorsport
Where it all began
Five years old, a helmet twice the size of my head, and already not wanting to slow down. I didn't know it then, but that was the beginning of a love that has never left. That same year, 2008, I watched my first Formula 1 race, and I have not missed a single one since. Early morning, late at night, whatever timezone, whatever the hour. Eighteen years of every qualifying session, every race, every season. Motorsport has been part of my life before I could fully understand it, and it has never loosened its grip.

NikoRace mindset
Before I get in the kart I like to take a few minutes to go through everything in my head: the track, the braking points, where the overtaking opportunities are, what the other drivers tend to do. It's become a habit more than a ritual. I find it focuses me in a way not many things do.
On the limit
Wheel to wheel racing is where the fun really is. Two karts side by side, neither driver giving up the corner. It's the purest form of competition I know. I've raced in 24-hour endurance events and represented UCL at the British Universities Karting Championship, which was one of the highlights of my time there. I'm not going to pretend I'm the fastest driver on the grid. But there's something about being on a track, fully committed, that I keep coming back to. It doesn't get old.
